I, CPT Cole, the Company commander of Bravo Company of the 1ST Battalion 48TH Infantry Regiment, located in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, am extending to you the opportunity to pose questions to be answered by my Soldiers currently training.
Most civilians interested in joining the Army know of it, but really do not know what goes on in it, per say. I'm providing an opportunity to those interested in joining the Army to get their questions and concerns answered, directly by Soldiers currently training in my company, to assist them in making their decision to join history.
This forum will allow them to get a feeling of what Basic Combat Training (BCT) is all about and the truth about the training straight from the Soldiers. Additionally, it will assist him/her to make the decision of whether they want to join or not.
Through this forum, though limited to your location, he/she may be able to request a visit to a BCT site, requested through your local recruiter, to see for yourself how rigorous and challenging the training really is. There are several BCT training sites to choose such as Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Ft. Knox, Kentucky, and Ft. Benning, Georgia.
Definition. BCT is where individuals undergo vigorous physical training, to prepare their bodies for the eventual physical strain of combat. One of the hardest and most essential lessons learned in BCT, however, is self-discipline: BCT introduces prospective soldiers to a strict daily schedule, entailing many duties and extremely high expectations for which most civilians are not immediately ready.
In all, I want you to make the right decision for the right reasons to better help yourself and your family, if you have dependents. Ensuring that all of your questions and concerns are answered prior to your contract signing and entering the military. Through this process, doubts can be eliminated, thus streamling your transition from civilian and development into a U.S. Army Soldier.
I look forward to your responses. HOOAH!
